Expedition Réunion 2009
The canyoning expedition to Reunion Island ended with our return in the Czech Republic on May 4, 2009. Although the circumstances and the weather did not allow us to conquer the most difficult canyons of the world, we still accomplished ten canyoning tours in total. Some of them are ranked among the most appreciated and splendid canyons. Canyon Eli 2, with a 150 meters waterfall, was probably the most esteemed for us, along with very gorgeous canyons such as Trou Blanc and Fleurs Jaunes.
Beside the canyoning, we explored this beautiful island, which is deservedly named “The Pearl of the Indian Ocean.” We went through Mafate, which is almost untouched by civilization, and surmounted the highest peak of the island Piton de la Fournaise (altitude 2510 meters).
