Though the outdoor sports world has been male-dominated for a while, some women are avidly striving to inspire other girls to pursue their dreams despite the imbalance in participants. Faith was the first female to reach the same level as men in the sport of highlining, and she quickly proved that being a woman is not a disadvantage. Within 6 months of highlining she had crushed the previous female world records in the sport of slackline and has since continued to break her own records to set new ones. She is the first and only woman to reach the 100-meter length in highlining. She currently holds no less than five world records for women in the sport of slackline, is the only female regularly free soloing, and continues to push the limits not just for women but for the sport itself. Despite juggling the busy life of a professional athlete she still manages to organize the annual Girls Only Slackline Festival along with her women's highline team G4G, which focuses on women highlining. As an athlete, Faith is known for her strong mental edge, her stubborn determination and her impressive achievements. Her focus in the upcoming year is to pursue more projects that involve trekking, climbing and highlining, particularly in Alpine environments where focus, experience and determination are key.
Faith Currently resides in the United States, although she spends her entire Summers in Europe, particularly in the sandstones of Czech Republic where she enjoys the traditional climbing and beautiful highlining. When not in the rocks, Faith enjoys surfing and playing Ukulele.
Faith Dickey fell in love with the Czech sandstone climbing and highlining after her first trip to the Elbe sand stone region. Few areas preserve the traditional style of climbing so well, and though the towers are not high, the style of climbing with knots and no chalk is humbling to say the least.
Highlining there is unique as well since bolting is not allowed, and highliners must carefully wrap the towers to span a line. Once the line is taken down, there is no trace it was ever there. What better way to learn the traditional method of climbing in Czech Republic than using local equipment? Faith began cooperating with Rock Empire 2 years ago, and while she climbs and highlines internationally, she enjoys supporting a local company in her favorite European country of Czech Republic.
