Climbing Holds

Climbing holds are designed only for free climbing training. The holds are certified according to Czecho-Slovakian Standards and European Norm (EN) 12572:3. Holds are not to be used for dry tooling, technical climbing or any other climbing techniques.

Climbing holds can be secured to the climbing casing wall (according to EN 12 572:1) at designated spots. The length of the screw must be such that the screw extends beyond the back surface of the hold at least the length required for the entire length of the screw thread to be attached to the climbing wall. Another possibility is to attach the holds to any flat surface using any surface anchoring technique in such a way that the carrying weight of the hold is at least the minimal 200 kg in any direction. The length of the screw required for attaching the holds to a flat surface varies depending on the anchoring technique used. The hole in the washer (except on the Micro size) is designed for mounting with an Allen screw M10. For attaching the Micro size hold, please use the screws supplied (4x35mm).

The maximum tightening torques for the different sizes are as follows: XS- 40Nm, M- 60Nm, L- 60Nm, XL- 60 Nm, XXL- 60 NM, Mega- 60Nm, Children’s holds- 60Nm, Makro- 60 Nm, Training Boards- 40Nm. For the holds that come with holes for screws, it is important that the screws be mounted in such a way to avoid deformation or movement (spinning) at maximum loads. Tighten the screws such that the screw head touches the surface of the hold. The screw should not be tightened any more once it rests on the surface of the hold. The tightening torque for the screws is dependent upon the surface to which the hold is being attached.

Maintenance and cleaning of the climbing holds should be done with a non-metallic brush and water. During any maintenance, a visual inspection of the climbing hold should be done to look for signs of damage (cracks, partial breaks, etc.). Repairs or modifications to damaged holds are not permitted. Climbing holds can be disposed of with other mixed waste.
