Rock Empire Supports Poetry Slam Benefit

As part of the Czech national campaign against poverty, a Poetry Slam took place on October 8th in Děčín. The evening benefitted the Hope Zambia Civic Association, which is local organization that, in its 5th year, supports the studies of 190 orphans in the area of Monza in Zambia. During the evening, 5 contestants performed and presented, in very original ways, their poems focused on hope, poverty and life in Africa. They competed for valuable prizes donated by Rock Empire, Hudy Sport, Grešík and Pusinka Sweet Shop.

Another attraction during the evening was a performance by two rappers from the Republic of Congo. Their dance, energy and enthusiasm excited everyone. The legendary DJ Sarc´O´fucque played tunes with an authentic African and Calipso beat.

Proceeds from the evening will be used for a trip for pre-school age orphans at the Amazing Grace Nursery in Mozna. It will be the first opportunity for these children to go beyond their hometown and experience an end-of-school year trip like most Czech children normally have.
